Recently I drove the first time on the new Interstate 275 roadway at the Howard entrance in Tampa going north. What a nifty road it is. However, I was very disappointed to see that with the retention walls so high - about 12 feet? - any view of the Tampa skyline was totally blocked. This is a shame.
Where the new roadway joins the old roadway, the retention walls become the standard height, allowing for full view of the city. I'm wondering if there is any way for the Department of Transportation to take note of this objectionable concrete wall and perhaps lower it to a point where the city can be viewed.
Of course, lowering that wall would be astronomically expensive, but who approved the height in the first place?
