HUDSON - Deputies responding to a 911 call Wednesday found two toddlers uncared for and their guardians passed out from prescription drug use, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.
Christopher Lazarski and Michaela Larson were arrested and charged with child abuse. The children, girls ages 1 year and 18 months, were on the bedroom floor wearing soaked diapers, according to a sheriff's report. Their formula had also soured.
Lazarski, 34, told deputies he was taking prescribed pain medication after suffering injuries in a car accident, reports state. Larson, 35, said she was taking Lazarski's pills "for stress." Pill bottles were within reach of the children.
Lazarski was in the Land O' Lakes Jail today with bail set at $5,000. Larson was also in the jail, but no bail was set for her because the arrest violated her probation in a Pinellas County case, records state.
