Police: Man bombed boat with weights from Skyway pier

MANATEE COUNTY - Manatee Sheriff's deputies say a Tampa man threw fishing weights and other objects at a boat off the South Skyway fishing pier Thursday.
Thomas Spence, 45, admitted to throwing one weight at the boat because he thought the boat's operator purposely cut his fishing line at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
The weight cracked the boat's fiberglass and caused more than $1,000 worth of damage, according to a report.
Spence was arrested on felony charges of throwing a deadly missile in an occupied vessel and criminal mischief.
