Three masked intruders shot one man to death and injured another late last night, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Brothers Jose and Juan Calvo-Calvo were visiting the 3226 Sydney Dover Rd. Lot 4 residence of Jesus Hernandez-Santiago late Friday night, according to a media release. All three victims were outside the residence when they were confronted by the armed suspects.

According to the release:

The suspects forced the victims back into the trailer where the suspects ransacked the residence and robbed all three victims. As the suspects were fleeing the residence, the victims walked outside. Hernandez-Santiago was struck in the head with a bottle. Jose Calvo-Calvo, of 18800 Haynes Rd. Lot 10, Dover, was shot in the upper torso and died at the scene. His brother, Juan Calvo-Calvo, of 14339 Downing Street. Lot 12, Dover, was unharmed.

The suspects are described as about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, wearing dark shirts and blue jeans. All three had their faces covered with stocking mask or t-shirts.

Authorities surrounded the mobile home with "crime scene" tape and gathered evidence early this morning. They removed items from the home in bags and snapped photos of the scene.

Nearly a dozen neighbors gathered under a nearby shade tree as the sun rose. A few sipped from tall cans of Natural Light beer.

Most said they didn't speak English, and no one said they heard anything the night before.

The mobile home park is mostly occupied by Mexican workers who generally don't live there more than a few months at a time, residents said.

The victim's home is a sun-scorched gray with a sagging air conditioner in the window and insulation hanging in clumps from the underside.

Oscar Guzman has lived in the park about six months. He said residents pay $150 a week, which includes utilities.

The mobile home park is mostly quiet, but people are always moving in an out, Guzman said. There is a constant commotion from visiting friends and relatives.

He didn't know the victims well, but said he said they didn't have a reputation for being violent people.

It's not unusual, he said, to hear people outside their homes on these warm nights, laughing, drinking and sometimes fighting.

"Last night, there was nothing different," he said.

Anyone with about the incident is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
