Police: Mom left toddler unattended to go exercise

TAMPA - A 3-year-old boy was found roaming a parking lot naked after his mother left him unattended for more than an hour while she went to exercise, police say.
Officers arrested Sara Marie Swanson, 25, a nurse at Tampa General Hospital, on a child neglect charge. She was released on $2,000 bail.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at 5055 S. Dale Mabry Highway. Officers responding to a call spotted the boy and determined where he lived. They "found the door standing open, but nobody was inside the home," an arrest report states. "The living conditions within this apartment were poor, with soiled clothing and trash on the floors of every room."
The child was placed into protective custody, police say.
Swanson is a clinical nurse at Tampa General Hospital, hospital spokesman John Dunn said.
