ST. PETERSBURG - Vintage Girl Scout memorabilia dating from the 1910s will be on display at the St. Petersburg Museum of History through Oct. 4.
The Girl Scouts of West Central Florida present "A Look Back at Our History", featuring materials from the council's extensive archive collection dating from 1914.
The exhibit, the first for the Girl Scout council, features a collection of vintage girl and adult Girl Scout uniforms dating from the early 1900s; a display of Girl Scout pins and badges dating from the 1920s; a Girl Scout doll collection, including a Russian nesting doll; an exhibit featuring Girl Scout history in Pinellas County and more.
"Girl Scouts will celebrate 100 years in 2012 and we'll be celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouting in the Tampa Bay area in 2013," said Ellie Paladine, chair of the council's alumni association.
"This exhibit is a terrific way to showcase some of that history, not only to Girl Scouts and alumnae, but the community, as well," Paladine said.
