Exotic fauna belong in zoo

Personally, I could care less if a pet store that deals with exotic pets goes broke. ("Pet peeves," May 11).
I'm tired of pythons, parrots, parakeets, monkeys, iguanas, cobras and whatever else is being let loose in the wild and destroying native wildlife.
I even knew of one idiot who wanted a gaboon viper. Heaven help anyone who encountered that snake if he were to lose it.
Nonnative animals should be completely banned for private ownership, and only licensed zoos should have them.
