Ten local golfers are being sought to help with research by Morton Plant Mease Health Care and a local sports psychiatrist.
The study will look at a brain imaging scan which may help a golfing condition known as "the yips." Nick Dewan is recruiting 10 local golfers ages 40 and older with a USGA handicap card. The study requires five golfers suffering from tremors and five who do not have a tremor condition.
Yips is a common sports term referring to a tremor or twitch affecting a golfer's swing. The condition is thought to be brought on by a biochemical change in the brain, mainly among mature golfers. For details, call (727) 723-0779.
