After a senior season that ended after three games because of a knee injury, Zephyrhills receiver Gage Hayes will play football for the University of Tulsa.
Hayes, who caught 11 passes for 155 yards, has signed a letter-of-intent after visiting the school last week.
"I think it's good as a whole, that a kid can show that he can persevere through different situations and still put himself in a good situation," Zephyrhills coach Jerrell Cogmon said. "The biggest thing for him, with him having a good academic standing, he has the ability and he had enough film to show himself to be a quality athlete."
Tulsa, which competes in Conference USA, ended its season with a 45-13 victory against Ball State in the GMAC Bowl, giving the Hurricanes their first 11-win season at 11-3.
In other Bulldogs news, receiver Josh Geiger and defensive back Ben Williams were offered scholarships to play football at Tennessee State.
