WellCare will cut 200 jobs in Tampa

The bulk of layoffs at WellCare Health Plans this quarter will come from the company's ranks in Tampa.
The administrator of health plans for government agencies will cut 200 jobs in Tampa, out of 360 total layoffs it announced Wednesday, officials said. Those local cuts represent about 8 percent of WellCare's local employment of 2,400. WellCare is dealing with a range of shifts in its business and the impact of several government probes into its business practices.
