A community stroke education event has been rescheduled for Tuesday on WFLA, News Channel 8.
The "8 On Your Side Strike Out Stroke Phone Bank" will run from 5 to 7 p.m., and will feature volunteers from Winter Haven and St. Anthony's hospitals. They will be able to answer basic information about stroke and other related topics. Channel 8 news reports that day also will discuss signs that you may be having a stroke.
Callers to the phone bank will receive an American Stroke Association cookbook, "Healthy Soul Food." The book includes 47 recipes for popular soul foods, lightened up for a more healthful meal.
The annual WFLA event was rescheduled after a last-minute announcement by the Federal Communications Commission requiring television stations to hold a digital TV conversion test on the original date.
The Tampa Tribune and WFLA are coverage partners.
