GIBSONTON - Brandon's Ty Garner holds himself to a pretty high standard, and that's why he said it was hard for him to relish what he labeled a "good" performance in Friday's spring jamboree against Bloomingdale.
That performance included three sacks, a forced fumble and recovery, a 36-yard interception return for a touchdown and a 60-yard rushing TD as the Eagles defeated the Bulls, 27-0.
"I think that this wasn't my best, but don't get me wrong, it was a good day," Garner said.
After a scoreless first quarter, Garner jumped a screen pass from Bloomingdale QB Joe Campoamor and took it 36 yards for a TD. Running back Darius Lee added the Eagles' second TD on a 13-yard run.
In the second half-game, the East Bay rushing attack got Deandre Reddick touchdowns of 14 and 3 yards as the Indians defeated Riverview, 15-8.
The Sharks scored with 14 seconds left when Jarid Heffers hit David Ray for a 32-yard TD.
