The Florida National Cemetery will hold its Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday. The event is sponsored by the cemetery's Joint Veterans Committee and will feature guest speaker Thomas G. Bowman, senior adviser with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Sunshine Health Network. Randy Price, of WQYK, (99.5 FM), will be master of ceremonies.
Before the ceremony, patriotic music will be played by the Hernando High School Band. The Florida National Guard will provide the gun salute and posting of the colors, and there will be a flyover by Ye Mystic Air Krewe.
The Avenue of Flags consisting of 400-plus flags will line the cemetery's roads. These flags were donated to the cemetery by the next of kin of deceased veterans.
