TAMPA - Plant's air attack took a backseat to a ground assault in the Panthers' 34-12 win against Blake.
Plant rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two. Junior running back T.J. Glover accounted for two of the rushing TDs (75 and 41 yards).
Quarterback Phillip Ely threw for two touchdowns (24 and 3 yards) and one interception.
In the first two quarters of action, Robinson defeated Jefferson 34-14. The Knights set the tone on the first play of the game when sophomore J.J. Hubbard returned the opening kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown.
Hubbard added another touchdown on a 69-yard run midway through the second quarter. Robinson took a 14-0 lead after it capitalized on a Jefferson turnover with quarterback Blake Rice's 11-yard touchdown reception to Frankie Williams.
Quarterback Quentin Williams engineered a 67-yard scoring drive that culminated with a 15-yard TD reception to Adrian Jenkins.
