TAMPA - The NCAA has granted University of South Florida women's basketball player Jessica Lawson a sixth year of eligibility.
The return of Lawson in 2009-10 will be a big boost for the Bulls' WNIT champions.
A 6-foot-3 center, Lawson started 36 games last season, averaging 10.6 points and 6.7 rebounds.
Lawson, from Orlando Evans High, originally signed with California. She was named to the Pac-10's all-freshman team but then missed the 2005-06 season at Cal with a knee injury.
In 2006, she transferred to USF and sat out the 2006-07 season as a transfer. She has started 64 of 69 games the past two years for USF.
