Imagine 2,400 days of school - and not a day missed.
Seven Hillsborough County students met that milestone, achieving perfect attendance from their days in kindergarten all the way to high school graduation.
All have plans for college after they graduate this week and next, and all scored at least a B average. The school board will honor them at a June meeting, where the students will receive book-shaped clocks.
Their distinction is rare, school officials say.
"Sure I got sick, but if I missed school I wouldn't know what to do," said graduating senior Manuel Ramos of East Bay High. "To me, there's really no reason to skip class."
The students are:
Ben Abercrombie, Durant High
Brett Birch, Alonso High
Cathrine Black, Wharton High
Manuel Ramos, East Bay High
Emily Reich, Freedom High
James Shin, Durant High
Kasey Vice, Newsome High
