The first occurred in the 600 block of 58th Avenue Drive E., in Bradenton shortly before 2 a.m. A man, whose name is not being published to protect his identity, stepped outside his home for a smoke and was approached by two men, one armed with a black pistol, deputies said.

The two robbers beat the victim, causing a cut over his left eye, deputies said. They took his wallet, which contained about $200 and fled north on Seventh Street East in a dark blue four-door Chevrolet Lumina

The second robbery occurred just after 2 a.m. at 900 21st St. E. in Palmetto, deputies said.

The victim was confronted by two men who got out of a white Chevrolet Caprice Classic. The victim suffered a cut to his right arm during the struggle. He was treated at Manatee Memorial Hospital and later released.

The robbers got away with the man's wallet, which contained $200, deputies said.
