Tampa police are searching for a suspect who shot two women as they sat in their car Saturday night.
According to police, the victims were returning to their home in the Courtney Cove Apartments at 5510 N. Himes Ave. at about 7:30 p.m. when the shooting occurred.
The attacker approached the victims armed with a pistol and began banging on the vehicle. He then fired several shots into the vehicle, striking Gairo Pion, 18, three times and Jennifer Zambrana, 18, once. Both received non-life threatening injuries.
The other two occupants of the car – a 17-year-old Hispanic male and a Hispanic female, Payliz Torres, were not injured.
The shooter, who fled the scene, in a grey, lowered Honda, is identified by police as Torres' boyfriend. He is a 25-year-old Hispanic male, 5-feet, 7-inches tall weighing 150 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and multiple tattoos. He is armed with a 9mm pistol.
