I have a daughter who is a dorm resident at the University of Florida. During home-game weekends, she is forced to move her car by 5 p.m. Friday to a very remote parking area to allow game attendees to park close to the stadium. Attempting to visit her on a weekday requires a drive-by pick-up as there is only 45-minute parking available within a 20-minute walk to her dorm.
Her $145 per semester parking pass amounts only to a license to hunt.
How could the trustees of the Florida university system have possibly allowed the student body of this university, as well as several others (Florida State is another very poor example), to grow to the sizes they have and continue to grow without any forethought to the parking requirements?
It's time to clean "Trustee house."
