TAMPA - Quarterback Phillip Ely threw four touchdown passes to lead Plant (7-1, 3-0 Class 5A-District 5) past Chamberlain (1-9, 1-2).
"I thought it was a great win ... to come out and play like we played from the get go," Plant coach Robert Weiner said, "Tremendous on defense and our offense clicked probably better than it did all season."
Plant took an early lead after Ely found Allen Sampson for an 11-yard touchdown. Ely connected again with Sampson in the final seconds of the first half on a 38-yard touchdown.
Kevin Beckwith and DeAndre Queen each had touchdowns from Ely, who finished with 137 yards passing.
Running back Antonio Crawford scored Plant's final touchdown on a 60-yard run. Crawford rushed for a total of 83 yards.
The game was full of hard hits. Chamberlain players Blake Bell and Aubrey Williams were ejected in the fourth quarter after personal fouls were called on separate plays.
The Panthers close out the season against Robinson on Friday, and will face Plant City in the opening round of the playoffs on Nov.20.
