Man held girlfriend, father at knifepoint, deputies say

BRADENTON - The combination of visiting a girlfriend and her father can be overwhelming.

It apparently turned Steve Rotolo despondent Tuesday afternoon.

Rotolo, 28, visited his girlfriend, Michelle Mosley, 27, at her Bradenton home, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said. Her father, Larry Mosley, and another woman, Linda Smith, were also there.

During the 3:30 p.m. visit, Rotolo got upset and pulled a knife on all three. He threatened them, held them against their will and physically assaulted Larry Mosley, the sheriff's office said.

Larry Mosley and Smith escaped from the home and called police.

The sheriff's office responded and entered the home. Neither Rotolo nor Michelle Mosley was there, the sheriff's office said.

At around 8 p.m., Rotolo was arrested on U.S. 41. Michelle Mosley returned home at about 8 p.m. and was found in good health.

Rotolo was charged with false imprisonment. Additional charges are pending, the sheriff's office said.
