Presidential promises

I am happy to see a reader (B. Flanagan, Nov. 2) admitting he voted to make Barack Obama president. I am also happy to see he admitted that "they" forgot what it takes to make a change and correct what "they" think are mistakes of the past.

Many of us who did not vote for President Obama understood what all the costs were going to be. Obama is doing exactly what he said he was going to do.

Our country now owns part of two failing auto companies, parts of financial institutions and is poised to take over health care. The costs of these policies will be passed to our children and grandchildren. I understood that when I voted against Obama.

I also understood that our country could not afford many of these changes. If Flanagan and those who voted for Obama forgot what the costs of change were, then maybe they should do some research and get educated before they vote.

It will take a long time for our country to dig out of the hole that his policies will put us in. But many of us will not forget what he is doing to us and how it will hurt us.
