TAMPA - The Tampa Port Authority nominating committee is seeking applicants for a future port authority commissioner opening designated for a person with a maritime industry background.
The term of commissioner Brian Dolan expires Feb. 6, although Dolan will be permitted to reapply for the nonpaying post.

Florida's governor will select a commissioner from the nominees selected by the committee.

In addition to Dolan's term, the term of port board chairman Larry Shipp expires Nov 25. The governor will choose Shipp's successor.
Also, the term of Hillsborough County's representative on the board, County Commissioner Rose Ferlita, expires this month. The county commission must pick a commissioner to fill position.
