TAMPA - Ten children have been taken to hospitals with minor injuries after a school bus and a truck collided this morning, Hillsborough County deputies say.
The bus driver also was taken to a hospital; the extent of her injuries was not available.
The crash occurred at 21st Avenue Southeast and Sixth Street Southeast as the bus was heading to Beth Shields Middle School with 39 students aboard. The bus was eastbound on 21st Avenue when it turned into the path of the westbound Terminix truck, deputies say.
Bus driver Olga Guerrero, 39, of Ruskin, was cited for violating the right of way, deputies say.
Truck driver Douglas Hayes, 35, of Valrico, was not injured.
