GAINESVILLE - Florida coach Urban Meyer said there's a chance TB Chris Rainey could play against Vanderbilt on Saturday after being sidelined in the win against Georgia with a separated shoulder.
"He was good (Tuesday); he had a yellow shirt on," said Meyer, meaning Rainey was in a no-contact jersey.
Rainey, a sophomore, is the team's third-leading rusher with 380 yards on 57 carries (6.7 yards per attempt). He had four carries for 12 yards against Georgia.
"I think he's going to play," Meyer said. "I was very impressed that he came out and practiced today."
HADEN IN RUNNING: Junior S Joe Haden is a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award, which goes to the nation's top defensive back. The winner will be named Dec. 10 at the Home Depot Awards Show at Disney.
Haden is third on the team with 43 tackles and has two interceptions. Gators defensive backs coach Vance Beford called him "one of the most athletic guys I've ever been around."
