PLANT CITY - A confirmed case of tuberculosis at Plant City High School has prompted health department officials to recommend testing of seven separate classes and all the lunch room personnel, school district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said today.
TB tests will be given at the school at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Cobbe would not say if the confirmed case was a student, teacher or staff member at the school. She said lunch room workers had asked to be tested because they come into contact with virtually everyone at the school.
Students will be given letters to take home explaining the situation. The last TB case documented in the county was at Armwood High, at the end of the 2009 school year, Cobbe said.
