Motorcycle passenger dead in Clearwater accident

CLEARWATER - A passenger on a motorcycle is dead and the driver sustained life-threatening injuries after an accident at around 8:30 p.m., the Clearwater Police Department said.
The motorcycle was traveling west on Montclair Road at a high rate of speed, police said. The male driver failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road.
The diver and passenger, who were wearing helmets, were ejected from the motorcycle.
The female passenger died at the scene. The driver was taken to Mease Dunedin Hospital. The driver and passenger have not yet been identified.
Montclair Road at Sunset Point Road will be closed for several hours while police investigate the accident.
