Does the idea of getting married in the company of some friendly dolphins make you swoon?
One lucky couple will win a free Valentine's Day wedding at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. They will be married on a platform over the main dolphin pool, and resident dolphins Nicholas and Winter will assist in the nuptials.
The Second Annual Wedding of a Lifetime Contest also includes a custom-made wedding dress, rings, tuxedo, cake, wine, photography, flowers and space for 100 guests, as well as a four-night honeymoon stay at the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa.
Couples should send a photograph and an explanation of why they should be chosen to win to weddingcontest@cmaquarium.org.
"We're looking for the most compelling story," said Jeni Hatter, director of media relations for the aquarium. "In this economy, it's hard for a lot of couples to have their dream wedding. And a lot of people love dolphins and Valentine's Day weddings."
The event will be the second marriage ceremony held over the dolphin pool. Samantha Stahl and Kevin Freeland of Clearwater said their "I do's" on Valentine's Day 2009, after beating out 78 couples, Hatter said.
Deadline for submitting entries for the contest is Dec. 4. The winning couple will be chosen Dec. 11 by Hatter and the aquarium staff.
