The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is typically one of the busiest days of the year at the nation's airports.

More travelers plan to fly during the December holidays this year than last with about the same number flying over Thanksgiving, a TripAdvisor survey of 1,300 U.S. respondents found. And travelers appear to be attuned to baggage fees airlines implemented this year.
The survey found 35 percent of the respondents plan to travel for Thanksgiving this year, including 37 percent who will fly, down from 38 percent a year ago.
Forty percent of respondents plan to travel in December, including 57 percent who will fly, up from 52 percent a year ago.
Additional findings:
• Rarely or never stressed out by holiday flights: 59 percent
• Delayed at airports in past holidays: 57 percent
• Expect delays this year: 28 percent
• Already booked Thanksgiving flights: 81 percent of those planning to fly
• Already booked December flights: 47 percent
• Carry-on luggage only: 33 percent
• Checking one bag: 55 percent
• Checking two bags: 12 percent
