CLEARWATER - Two people died Thursday night when the motorcycle they were riding veered off Montclair Road.

Driver Daniel B. Rivers, 34, of 1401 Rose St., lost control of the 2004 Suzuki motorcycle on a curve in the 1800 block of Montclair Road at about 8:30 p.m.

Passenger Starr Knotek, 32, of 1530 Erin Lane, died at the scene. Rivers was taken to Mease Dunedin Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating whether excessive speed and alcohol were involved in the crash.
