I sat at a traffic light at State Road 60 and 22nd Street in Tampa on Thursday as law enforcement agencies escorted a hearse bearing the body of a soldier who had died in service to our country. He was home for burial. I arrived home a short time later and turned on the news to see that numerous brave souls awaiting deployment overseas were killed in Texas.
I felt sadness, despair and finally anger. What has happened to our country?
Innocent people killed by lunatics for reasons that are beyond reason. Have we lost all direction as a country? Does the life of another human being mean so little?
I said a prayer today, but not only for the brave souls who lost their lives. I also prayed for our country. I think we all should.
