NEW PORT RICHEY - Might've committed a crime in Pasco but don't know if the long arm of the law is looking for you?
Well, your answer is just a click away at www. pascosheriff.com. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office Web site has a link to an active warrants list on the left side of the home page.
It is the most up-to-date list for Pasco warrants, said sheriff's office spokesman Kevin Doll. The Web site had a link to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's list of active warrants, but there's a several-weeks delay built into the database for warrants from local jurisdictions.
Pasco warrant clerks will refer callers checking on warrants to the Web site, allowing the clerks to concentrate on inputting data into the computer system, Doll said.
If your name is Karen M. Veiga and you were born on July, 26, 1954, they're looking for you. A warrant was issued April 10, 2002. How about Shannon Patton? Is your birthday June 26, 1972? Do you recall doing a little fishing around March 22, 2002? Deputies think you were reeling without a license.
Sheriff's officials also want the public's help if they know anyone with an outstanding warrant. Callers do not have to give their name. Tips can be taken anonymously at 1-800-706-2488. The Web site, however, warns people not to try to apprehend suspects themselves.
