Presidential positions

I've heard several newscasters claim the recent GOP victories indicate the wind is blowing in a different direction. Maybe they need a new weather vane.
In his strong, persuasive campaign speeches, President Obama promised us national health care. He promised no federal income tax for seniors making less than $50,000 a year and to end the war. He also promised a new look at the laws keeping our less-affluent drug addicts caged-up in prisons.
But after his election, Obama's speeches supporting these positions have been weak and uninformative. It's not the wind blowing in a different direction; it's our president.
