TAMPA - On a day they saluted their past, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave their fans a tantalizing glimpse of the future with a 38-28 comeback victory against the Green Bay Packers.
In his first pro start, rookie quarterback Josh Freeman threw two of his three touchdown passes while rallying the Bucs from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter as the team (1-7) ended an 11-game losing streak that dates to last season.
Bucs players wore throwback orange uniforms in tribute to the 1979 club that came within 10 points of a Super Bowl berth. After Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon became the first member of the franchise's Ring of Honor in a halftime ceremony, an inspired Buc defense responded with six sacks.
