TALLAHASSEE - TALLAHASSEE (AP) — Phone customers in the Tampa Bay area will get roughly a $2 credit on their phone bills.

Verizon agreed to give the credit as part of an agreement to resolve complaints against the phone company that has more than 900,000 customers in six counties. The deal was approved today by the Florida Public Service Commission.

The credit will show up on bills in the next 90 days.

The total settlement is worth $2 million and calls for Verizon to pay $250,000 to the state. Verizon must also offer discounts to low-income customers even if the customers want to pay for other services like voice mail.
