TAMPA - The woman accused of choking a groom's 74-year-old grandmother during a wedding day fracas was arrested today.
Sandra Dean, 26, of Tampa, faces charges including battery on a person older than 65, records show. She is accused of choking Mary Wright at the Residence Inn on Boy Scout Boulevard. Wright wasn't seriously injured.
The incident happened following a fight Sunday night during a wedding reception at the Rusty Pelican restaurant, police said. About 30 to 40 people were involved in the brawl, including the groom, Markeith Brown.
The fight eventually shifted to the hotel parking lot, where Brown's father was punched and kicked. Malcolm Anthony Hepburn, 30, was arrested in that attack.
Dean also faces charges of obstructing or opposing an officer and driving with a suspended or revoked license. Police say she was driving with an unrestrained infant in the back seat Sunday night at the Rusty Pelican and fled.
Dean remains in jail with bail set at $4,500.
In July, Dean was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm after police said she fractured a man's jaw with a baseball bat. The case is pending.
