A few area business are adding to the anticipation "New Moon," the next installment of the "Twilight Saga," with events for vampire and werewolf wannabes on Friday.
Blockbuster in Clearwater is hosting a "New Moon" celebration and will give away tickets to an advance screening of the movie which opens Nov. 20. The first 25 Twi-fans who arrive at the 7 p.m. party will see the movie a day before it opens.
According to MovieTickets.com, there are more than 1,300 sold out performances for "New Moon," outpacing "Twilight" ticket sales a year ago.
But if your fan No. 26 or higher, don't fret – there will be more ticket giveaways, trivia contests, complimentary food and a screening of "Twilight" at the party. And some contest winners will walk away with DVDs and posters.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to dress up as their favorite character, but also say, if you're coming as a werewolf you have to wear a shirt.
The party is 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Blockbuster, 2045A Gulf To Bay Blvd., Clearwater; call (727) 442-5388 for more information.
Also on Friday, United Skates is hosting a "New Moon" vampire masquerade ball featuring movie trailers, "blood" shots and black-out skates. Dress as your favorite character and you'll get a set of vampire teeth.
