ST. PETERSBURG - Too early to be in the holiday spirit?

St. Petersburg's Holiday Outdoor Movie Series can help get you in the holiday swing.

Eight classic holiday films will be shown for free in an outdoor setting at North Straub Park, at Beach Drive and Fifth Avenue N.E.

The movie series begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 with "Miracle on 34th St.," starring Maureen O'Hara and
Natalie Wood.

The film series will feature:

• "Babes in Toyland" on Nov. 28, starring Laurel and Hardy.

• "We're No Angels" on Dec. 4, starring Humphrey Bogart.

• "White Christmas" on Dec. 5, starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.

• "Holiday Inn" on Dec. 11, starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.

• "A Christmas Story" on Dec. 12, starring Melinda Dillon and Peter Billingsley.

• "The Shop Around the Corner" on Dec. 18, starring Jimmy Stewart.

• "It's A Wonderful Life" on Dec. 19, starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.

All movies will start at 7 p.m. If you plan to attend, bring lawn chairs and blankets. Popcorn, coffee and hot chocolate will be sold.

The film series is sponsored by the 400 Beach Drive Merchants, Progress Energy and the city of St. Petersburg.
