TAMPA - A pet adoption expo is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

The annual event, sponsored by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Hillsborough County and TampaPets.org, will feature more than 60 rescue groups and hundreds of pets ready for adoption in the fairgrounds' Special Events Center.

There will be discounted adoption fees for veterans, and the MacDill Air Force Base honor guard will be there along with Raymond, the mascot for the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders.

Admission is free. Those attending are urged to bring pet-food donations.

The cost to park is $5. Visitors should use the entrance on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, just west of U.S. 301.
