Here's one from the "oops" department.
Parents in Pinellas County should ignore those telephone calls about being fingerprinted or their purchasing cards not working.
The Pinellas school district inadvertently made automated telephone calls on at least two topics to parents today. Some parents received calls on their cell and office telephones.
The first call gave dates for people to show up for fingerprinting; the second concerned purchasing cards not working correctly.
"Those who received a message should disregard it," district spokeswoman Andrea Zahn said in an e-mail. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
The calls were blamed on human error.
