RUSKIN - The Longhorn defense proved to be no match for the arm of Patriot quarterback Tyler Guy, as Freedom dominated Lennard on Friday in their final regular-season game before heading into the playoffs next week.

Guy completed 10 of 14 passes, including his first seven, as the Freedom senior threw for 179 yards on the night including two touchdown passes, and added a pair of short-yardage jaunts into the end zone.

The Patriots (7-2) offense went to work fast, easily moving down the field behind Guy and successfully scoring touchdowns on their first two drives, and by halftime the Patriots had a comfortable 24-0 lead.

"We wanted to stay real simple, run the ball like we always do, and throw the ball when we have our chances," Patriots coach James Harrell said. "We just wanted to make sure we jumped on them early, we didn't want to have any indecision about the game early on."

If scoring early was the theme of the game, the Patriots carried it over into the second half as T.J. Mutcherson wasted no time by returning the opening kickoff 83 yards for a TD.
