TAMPA - The Eighth Annual Badge Bowl flag football game to benefit Foundation of Courage, a non-profit organization supporting children in the Bay area with cancer, takes place today at 5 p.m. at Wharton High School.

The Tampa Police Gladiators and Tampa Fire and Rescue Firestorm will battle it out on the field in fun to help fund pediatric cancer research. The Tampa Police Gladiators are looking for a second consecutive win.

Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for kids. Wharton High School is at 20150 Bruce B Downs Blvd.

Half of the money raised will benefit 5-year-old Avery Ralston and his family. Avery was diagnosed on Jan. 24, 2008 with acute lymphocytic leukemia. The remainder of the proceeds benefits the Foundation of Courage and 1Voice.
