TAMPA - Three vehicles hit a pedestrian crossing Hillsborough Avenue just after midnight, killing the man.
The last of the three vehicles to hit the man drove off without stopping, the Tampa Police Department said. Witnesses described the vehicle as white.
Police have not reached the victim's family members and have not identified the man.
He was crossing the eastbound lanes of Hillsborough Avenue about 12:10 a.m. today near North 34th Street when he was first hit by a 1995 Lexus driven by Harold Barrett, 39, of Lakeland, who was traveling in the middle lane.
Police said Barrett did not see the man.
A 1990 Acura driven by Willie Davis, 46, of Tampa, then hit the man. Davis also did not see the man crossing the street, police said.
The third vehicle hit the man but did not stop.
