TAMPA - A 24-year-old Tampa man fled from officers after they tried stopping him for turning without signaling, and when they caught him they found cocaine and marijuana, police say.
Charges against Shannon Pernell Brown include conspiracy to commit racketeering, trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, fleeing and eluding police, and driving with a revoked license.
He remains in jail, with bail set at $92,000.
The incident began about 11:49 p.m. Saturday.
Brown was driving a Buick east on Kay Street and failed to signal when turning onto Nebraska Avenue, police say. An officer initiated a traffic stop, and as the officer approached the Buick, Brown drove off. He drove to 1609 Scott St., stopped the Buick and ran.
Officers later found a baggie of cocaine in his possession and marijuana in the Buick, an arrest report states.
