Authorities are investigating the deaths of two brothers found dead this morning in a downtown Clearwater lake.
The bodies of Moises Hernandez-Ramos, 20, and Raul Hernandez-Ramos, 29, both of 605 Dogwood Court, in Dunedin, were found at 9:12 a.m. floating in the lake at Prospect Lake Park, public safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said.
Investigators don't know how they died. The Pinellas-Park Medical Examiner's Office will attempt to determine a cause of death, Watts said.
Detectives said the men had been in the water for at least a day. Initial autopsies did not find serious injuries to either victim.
One of the men pulled from the lake appeared to be wearing only shorts, while the other was seen wearing a tank top and shorts. Roughly 50 yards from where they were discovered, a Pinellas sheriff's evidence technician was seen picking clothes out of a garbage can and going through a wallet, looking at credit cards and identification cards.
Prospect Lake Park is on South Prospect Avenue, just south of Cleveland Street.
Clearwater police are asking that anyone who might have seen anything associated with the men's deaths contact the department at (727) 562-4422.
