TALLAHASSEE - Florida State offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher said Thursday that sophomore RB Jermaine Thomas will start Saturday's game at Boston College.
Thomas, the Seminoles' starting tailback in the season opener against Miami, lost his spot on the depth chart and has struggled to produce in FSU's past three games while nursing nagging injuries.
FSU's leading returning rusher from a year ago, Thomas has only 16 carries for 56 yards playing behind Ty Jones.
Fisher said Thomas, who had one carry against USF, has looked good in practice. Fisher added that Thomas is healthy.
INJURY UPDATES: Fisher gave a good report on QB Christian Ponder, who has been wearing a knee brace. ... DL Justin Mincey (knee) is listed as questionable. DTs Jacobbi McDaniel (knee) and Moses McCray (elbow) are listed as probable.
