Motorcycle riders hurt in interstate crash

St. PETERSBURG - A man driving a motorcycle is in critical condition, with the passenger in serious condition, after striking a concrete barrier today, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Driver Darryl James Gordon, 27, and passenger Audra Cole, 38, were traveling northbound on Interstate 275 at the exit ramp to Interstate 375 when Gordon lost control in the curve, the accident report said.
The 1998 Kawasaki struck the concrete barrier wall, ejecting both passengers into a lane of traffic, according to the report. Both were transported to Bayfront Medical Center.
Alcohol is not thought to be involved, and both rider and passenger were wearing helmets. The crash remains under investigation, the report said.
