KING...21 LETO...20
TAMPA - Greg Windham found Quadrea Everett for a 51-yard touchdown pass with 54 seconds to play to lift the Lions to victory against the Falcons on Friday night.
Leto appeared to give itself a chance at victory when it recovered a King fumble with 3:23 left in the fourth quarter. That turnover led to a 34-yard touchdown pass by Dominic Marion to Micah Leon, giving the Falcons a 20-15 lead.
Both defenses opened strongly to keep the game scoreless until late in the first half. Windham put King on the board first with 12 seconds remaining in the first half, scoring on a 1-yard run.
Leto answered with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Marino to Leon with two minutes to play in the third quarter.
Jahmeire Caldwell's 35-yard interception return then gave Leto possession deep in King territory. Jeremy Deering converted the turnover, scoring on a 5-yard to put Leto up 14-7.
A turnover also allowed King to retake the lead, as Everett recovered a Leto fumble at the 23. Cedric Young rushed for 19 yards on first down, and after a penalty brought the ball back to the Falcons 9, he completed the drive with a touchdown run.
