TAMPA - Dazmond Patterson gained 145 yards on the ground and Bennie Coney passed for 165 yards as Plant City (2-3) defeated winless Chamberlain on Friday night. Patterson or Coney were involved in all five of the Raiders' touchdowns.
A 60-yard kickoff return by Patterson set up Coney's 25-yard strike to Jordan Prestwood to give the Raiders a 6-0 lead.
Plant City kept the heat on the Chiefs as Patterson scored on a 15-yard run, Coney found Michael Harris from 10 yards out and Coney ran for a 1-yard score to give Plant City a 28-0 halftime lead.
A scoreless third quarter saw Plant City commit two turnovers, while Chamberlain turned the ball over twice and added 65 yards in penalties. The Chiefs were flagged a total of 13 times for 110 yards.
In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs converted a fourth-and-22, setting up quarterback Blake Bell's 1-yard run. The Raiders answered when Patterson busted up the middle from a yard out.
