Tampa Catholic stays unbeaten

LAUDERDALE LAKES - Tampa Catholic rebounded from three first-half turnovers and rushed for more than 250 yards to remain undefeated with a 28-0 victory over South Florida Prep on Friday night.

Senior running back Henry McCloud rushed 12 times for 118 yards with two touchdowns and senior quarterback Christian Green added 109 yards on the ground and two touchdowns to lead Tampa Catholic (4-0).

Green also connected with junior Conner Louis on a 10-yard touchdown pass.The win marked the Crusaders' first shutout of the season.

"Our defense played well," Tampa Catholic coach Bob Henriquez said.

LARGO - Tarpon Springs running back Adrian Golden fought through two injuries to rush for 170 yards on 24 carries and scored one touchdown to lead the visiting Spongers over the Packers.

LARGO - Shaquille Bradford ran and passed for a pair of third-quarter scores before a stingy defense and Latavien Washington's climactic 43-yard touchdown run late sealed a crucial come-from-behind victory.

St. Petersburg 34,

Palm Harbor 27

At Palm Harbor, the visiting Green Devils (5-0) kept their season perfect but dodged a strong rally.

Clearwater 35,

Dixie Hollins 10

At St. Petersburg, the visiting Tornadoes (4-1) scored three second-quarter touchdowns to pull away from the Rebels (0-5).

Gibbs 35, Dunedin 20

At Dunedin, Jarvis West scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns which proved to be the difference in Gibbs' second win of the year.
